An Indian restaurant with a taste of real spices is now open in the Gateway Plaza in Fort Pierce.
Desi Chili’s opened December 11 at 1987 South US Highway 1. The new restaurant welcomes those seeking the health and ethical benefits of 100% halal food.
The menu features unique, distinctive, and delicately prepared dishes that satisfy patrons with an unforgettable dining experience.
Vegetarian, chicken, lamb & goat, beef, and seafood specialties are served in savory finishes with naan bread – a traditional Indian flatbread baked in a hot clay tandoori oven.
Tandoori kabab and the crowd pleaser butter chicken – a chicken breast cooked in a tomato and onion sauce with fenugreek leaves are local favorites.
The family can feast on the Desi Platter, a generous spread of yellow rice, four pieces of tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, seekh kabab, shrimp, lamb chops and beef boti for $ 39.99.
The medium spiced food is washed down comfortably with a Mango Lassi – a blended yogurt drink with sugar, mango and ground cardamon.
A 13-item lunch buffet is offered six days a week from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm for $ 13.99 during the week and $15.99 on the weekends. Dinner is served 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Desi Chili’s is closed on Mondays.
Save room for the Golab Jamun – fried dumplings in a reduced milk and sugar syrup that will melt in your mouth and leave you satisfied.
Tareq Kamal brought Desi Chili to Fort Pierce to share his country’s culture, food and hospitality with the area.
He hopes you will stop by and taste the ancient spices that nourish and heal the body.
