The Florida Association of USA Boxing LBC-14 is excited to announce the creation of a National Competition Travel Team.

A panel of coaches selected the team of eight boxers after a grueling two-day selection process in Gainesville. The team will travel to national-level USA Boxing sanctioned events to showcase Florida’s amateur boxing talent.

The athletes from boxing gyms in Gainesville, Vero Beach, Ocala, Melbourne, Tampa, Miami, Fort Myers, and Fort Pierce are excited to be on the first-ever Florida  LBC-14 National Travel Team.

The team’s coaches are Larry Willis of Team Wilis Boxing in Fort Myers, Lee E. Gladden Jr. of Gladden Boxing Club in Gainesville, Ken Wilson of the St. Lucie Sheriff’s PAL in Fort Pierce, Will Real of 2 Big Boxing in Palm Bay, and Frank Burchette of Double V Boxing in Tampa.

The elite team members are:

23-year-old Aikim Roberts from Miami, 18-year-old Kamar Bray from Melbourne, 22-year-old Ada Jones of Vero Beach, 32-year-old Kelvin Allen of Gainesville, 31-year-old Ben Katz of Tampa, 16-year-old Jonathan Cruz of Fort Pierce, 20-year-old Juan Antonio of Fort Myers, 17-year-old Kyrice Garcia of Gainesville, and 23-year-old Lashawn Cornick of Ocala.

Team members will travel to Ohio for their first competition in May.

The Florida Association of USA Boxing LBC-14 regulates USA Boxing programs, clubs, and events for 87 chartered clubs in Florida. The non-profit organization recently obtained a solicitor’s license from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to raise funds for the National Travel Team.
