(Martin County, Florida) April 2, 2021.
Pete is an 80-year-old veteran who lives by himself in Martin County. Every Wednesday, he goes to House A Vet in Stuart and joins 40 other veterans for a hot lunch courtesy of Charlie’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill – a veteran-owned business.
After lunch, Pete does free shopping in House A Vet’s pantry, and the organization even procured him a scooter – donated by a generous community member to make getting around easier.
House A Vet is a non-profit organization that offers financial literacy training, career source assistance, haircuts, home and vehicle maintenance programs, and transportation services – all free for veterans
House A Vet Administrator Camille Cannon is passionate about bringing people together to help empower veterans to improve their lives and says, “Without public support, we cannot do what we do.”
